Bulgaria's CAA slow to review Greek Goldair Handling application

Bulgaria's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said it will determine if the Sofia International Airport can accommodate a second ground-handler besides Swiss Swissport, Dnevnik a.m. reports. In late 2007, Greece-registered Goldair Handling applied to be licensed to provide ground-handling services at the Sofia International Airport. Executives from the Greek company met with CAA representatives and bilateral talks are expected to continue on expert level.

Under Bulgaria's Civil Aviation Act, an airport with passenger traffic of more than 2 mln annually should have at least two ground-handlers which means that the CAA has no legal grounds to refuse to review the Goldair application.

The CAA will determine if the licensing of a new ground-handler would have a negative impact on service quality, said CAA deputy chief Lyudmil Manasiev. The official said the CAA will announce its position on the Goldair application by the end of the month.

The view of the management of the Sofia airport is that the further deployment of equipment and ground personnel will create a safety hazard.

Sources from Goldair handling said off the record, that if the CAA procrastinates, the company will file a complaint for the violation of competition rules with the European Commission.

Goldair said it has been notified in writing by Aeroflot, Malev, Wizz Air and Germanwings that they are ready to employ its services at the Sofia airport.

Не се очаква, а при тях са складирани 3 машини Goldair.

и вече ще има и 3-ти оператор? Кой ги разрешава тези работи хич не ми е ясно,не трябва ли отново да се преминат 2 млн. пътника ?


Toni:

Няма изискване за още 2 милиона пътника. Когато трафикът на едно летище е над 2 000 000, трябва да има минимум 2 оператора.

Все още не знаем какво ще стане. Maxxim е видял въпросните машини и веднага докладва. Гърците са заявили желание да станат трети оператор.... ще видим как ще се развият нещата.

Не са три,а четири. Стълба за пасажери(а може и за нещо друго),влекач за самолети, гумена транспортна лента и... това не знам как се казва, става за повдигане(сваляне) и натоварване(разтоварване) на металните карго контейнери в самолета. Има платформа с метални търкалящи се цилиндри,която може да се повдига и сваля.

Логото е същото.

По машините има лепенки с надписи на гръцки.

Също-не ми се виждат чисто нови.

Moreover, Goldair Handling has formed a joint venture with Aviation Services Bulgaria and has submitted an application to the competent authorities, in order to obtain the license, to provide ground handling services at the airport of Sofia.
